Using ViCH


Ear Using ViCH is easy! Once you are running the required software on a 'yale.edu' domain computer (see below), find your music course from the 'Course Listings' link. Select an assignment or unit. Log-in with your Yale netID and password as prompted. When the titles appear, click on 'Listen!' to hear the work you have chosen. Alternatively, choose the 'Search ViCH' link to use ViCH's search engine. When the results from your search query appear, click on 'Listen!' to hear the work you have chosen.

Required Software

  1. QuickTime Player 7.1.6. You may download the free QT player from Apple.
  2. MacOS – 10.3.9 or 10.4.9.
  3. Windows 2000/XP.

Required Hardware

  1. A 'yale.edu' domain computer with the required software correctly installed. Off-   campus users may connect to the Yale network via VPN (Virtual Private Networking). Detailed VPN setup instructions can be found here.
  2. A fast ethernet connection to the Yale network (i.e. computer clusters, dorm rooms, YalMusT Lab, etc).
